Paul R. Chalifoux, DDS
I grew
up loving mathematics and science, however; I could not find
professions in mathematics that appealed to me. Breaking my
teeth playing football in high school exposed me to dentistry.
I enjoyed the professional approach of my dentist, how he worked
artistically with his hands and the scientific knowledge dentistry
required. My high school yearbook read: "Ambition:
Dentist".
I
attended Assumption College knowing they had a great reputation for
getting students into dental schools. After three years, I
applied early and was accepted at Georgetown Dental School.
Assumption counted my freshman year of dental school as my senior
year at a Assumption which allowed me to graduate.
Dental
school was expensive so I applied and was accepted for a Health
Scholarship from congress. In return for each year they paid
for and the $334.07 a month I lived on, I owed them a year as a
dentist in the army.
Three
years of service at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii gave me fifteen
years of experience. Fifteen dentists treated twenty thousand
troops. Because specialists could not handle all the work,
general dentists received three month specialty training in each
specialty including crowns, bridges, dentures, oral surgery, root
canals and gum disease.
After one year in South Korea and a
year at Fort Devens in Massachusetts, I worked for a specialist in
Crown and Bridge for two years. Ultimately buying a practice
from Dr. Charles Pollina, one of the true gentlemen of dentistry.
Through the years I have enjoyed my passion for dentistry inventing,
publishing, editing for national magazines, designing websites and
lecturing. However, it is performing the art of dentistry and
developing relationships with patients as if they are my friend that
I love most.
Robert M. Feingold, DMD
Dr. Feingold excelled at Tufts
undergraduate and Tufts Dental School, ultimately teaching at
Harvard Dental School for 17 years. He has done advanced training in
restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, implant dentistry,
aesthetics, crown and bridge, and dental materials.
